colour fix

It smells a lot like spring in the air, the colours are brighter, the temperature is milder and everyone is happier...I love it! Plus it's Friday afternoon (happy!)
I am attracted to everything colourful at the moment; artwork, tea towels, vases, pens, paint colours, you name it...can't wait to put all my blacks, browns and greys away, it's been a long winter season!

Found a couple of inspirational shots in my colour file - here they are, hope you like:

Whatever you have planned for the weekend I hope you are going to enjoy. And don't forget to spoil dad on Sunday! Happy Father's day to all the dads out there :)

A room of my own

Dreams do come true...I've waited for this moment my whole life...yep! And finally here it is a workspace of my own, no kidding! I am so thrilled...

It's light and bright and I love it! (no styling, no worrying, just my own personal belongings, my creativity and my passion, how's that?)

I hope you are all having a wonderful, creative and productive week :)

Wednesday inspiration / pretty in pink

I am inspired by these beautiful images, the subtle soft hues really appeal to me at the moment, I have been gravitating towards more feminine interiors lately, perhaps because I have always lived in more masculine spaces in which more substantial, sturdy furniture and strong art were prevalent and now I feel the need to cultivate my more feminine side...who knows...there's no doubt that our taste does evolve with time (and age) and often becomes more sophisticated but perhaps that's not the right term, refined or elaborate might be better. What is your opinion? Has your taste evolved over the years?

work spaces

What makes a great work space? Size? Storage? Position?Height? Lighting? When designing a work space it's important to keep all of these elements in mind in order to achieve the best result possible.
Where do you start?
1- Evaluate the space / Consider all the elements above
2- Choose a style / Create a mood board for inspiration
3- Choose a focal point / It's a starting point/piece from which a colour scheme is then selected
4- Choose your colour scheme;
5- Select the furniture / Keep style, size and space in mind
And you are nearly there!
The final touches are what will make the space your own. No need to follow any rules here, just your own, be creative, be original and have fun!

Inspire me Monday / Charlotte Rust's home

New Zealand model and stylist Charlotte Rust's Auckland home is filled with mismatched furniture and beautiful objects (simply heaven for unconventional interiors addicts such as myself). I adore anything pre-loved and mismatched, I definitely favour comfort and a more relaxed mood at home. How about you? Do you love this look?

August brings me back to the blogsphere

Yes it's me, you are not hallucinating, I hope you haven't completely erased me from your memory...I am now in the new house and trying to slowly getting back to normal (work, activities etc) It's back to work this week with lots of great projects. I'm working on a new marketing campaign, branding and a new website (all for me!). So thrilling! Our new place is fantastic and spacious and we are all very happy. There's plenty of room for everyone and lots of storage!!! I am looking forward to getting stuck into decorating...lots of ideas at the moment but not much time to bring them to life. It will happen, you know what they say about patience...There are definitely lots of beautiful elements to play with, infact I can reveal now that I have inherited some beautiful chandeliers, a fireplace, a delightful sunroom, a kitchen with a greeny-bluey bench top (yes!) and gorgeous ornate ceilings throughout. Charming would be a good word to describe our new pad;) I have not had time to take pics (but I will) but in the meantime here's what has inspired me this week. Oh and don't forget to stop by and let me know what you have been up to. Have a wonderful rest of the week :)
